PicoQuant FT-300 Time-Resolved Spectrofluorimeter<\/h2>\n

This state-of-the-art modular equipment offers flexibility in its use and the potential of being expanded in the future. The acquired model features a 300 W Xenon lamp as polychromatic light source, a dual monochromator for excitation and emission, as well as a four-position sample compartment thermostated using Peltier. This equipment enables steady-state fluorescence measurements, excitation and emission spectra collection and quantum yields determinations. It also includes excitation and emission polarizers for fluorescence anisotropy measurements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, a module for time-resolved fluorescence measurements has been acquired which comprises a picosecond detection electronics and pulsed light sources \u2013two LEDs and three laser diodes covering the ultraviolet to visible range. This module is also equipped with automated polarizers for the acquisition of time-resolved anisotropy measurements.<\/p>\n

Fluorescence applications in both steady-state and time-resolved mode are multiple, spanning from basic to applied sciences in fields such as biology, chemistry, biotechnology, nanotechnology, pharmacy, materials science, food or environment. These techniques allow the study and characterization of materials or biological systems at the molecular and cellular level, allowing measurements at the nanoscale and capturing dynamic processes occurring within the nanosecond range.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, advancements in fluorescent probes and markers enables the measurement of molecular interaction and the characterization of structures in biological macromolecules such as DNA or protein, as well as more complex and heterogeneous structures like biological membranes. Fluorescence also serves as a highly versatile and sensitive analytical tool, particularly in the field of sensors and biosensors.<\/p>\n

The equipment, which becomes part of the DELIVER<\/strong> technological platform, has been acquired thanks to an action co-financed by the European Union through the\u00a0Programa Operativo del Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 (FEDER) of the Comunitat Valenciana 2014-2020<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(State Research Agency) (PROJECT: IDIFEDER 2021\/036).<\/p>\n
