The Antiviral Strategies in Aquaculture Group<\/strong> at IDiBE<\/strong>, led by Professors Mar\u00eda del Mar Ortega-Villaiz\u00e1n and Luis P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, had a prominent participation at the AQUA 2025 International Aquaculture Conference<\/strong>, held in Valencia from September 22 to 25<\/strong>. This event is one of the world\u2019s largest gatherings dedicated to aquaculture research and innovation.<\/p>\n

The IDiBE team<\/strong>, composed of Dr. Ver\u00f3nica Chico, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Carlos Campos, Celia Garc\u00eda, Yeray Cerpa, Adri\u00e1n L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, and Ainhoa G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, presented eight oral communications and one poster<\/strong>, sharing their latest research advances in vaccines and antiviral treatments for fish<\/strong>\u2014tools that are essential for improving animal health and enhancing sustainability in the aquaculture sector. These studies, funded by GVA-ThinkInAzul<\/strong> and the Spanish State Research Agency \/ Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities<\/strong>, represent a significant step toward the development of innovative solutions for the aquaculture field.<\/p>\n

The conference, organized by the European Aquaculture Society<\/a> (EAS)<\/strong> under the theme “Aquaculture for everyone, invest in your planet”<\/strong>, brought together researchers, companies, and institutional representatives to address major challenges in aquaculture and present innovative solutions. The program featured scientific lectures, industry forums, specialized workshops, activities for young researchers, and a trade exhibition, making it a key meeting point for knowledge exchange and new ideas.<\/p>\n

The participation of the IDiBE group<\/strong> reinforces its role in the development of new preventive and therapeutic strategies against viral diseases in fish, contributing to a more efficient, responsible, and sustainable aquaculture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
