The Foundation\u2019s inaugural Board of Trustees meeting was held on May 20 at the headquarters of the <strong data-start=\"3589\" data-end=\"3633\">Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)<\/strong> in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3684\" data-end=\"4152\">The creation of the FSEBBM represents an important milestone for strengthening scientific, educational, and outreach activities related to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Spain. The Foundation will work closely with the <strong data-start=\"3910\" data-end=\"3976\">Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM)<\/strong>, one of the country\u2019s leading scientific societies, bringing together more than 3,500 researchers and professionals in the life sciences.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4154\" data-end=\"4586\">The Foundation\u2019s mission includes promoting and disseminating knowledge in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, supporting scientific research and education, fostering scientific culture, and encouraging collaboration among national and international researchers. It also aims to strengthen the dialogue between science and society through outreach initiatives and activities with social impact.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4588\" data-end=\"4961\">The founding Board of Trustees is composed of Antonio Ferrer Montiel (President), Isabel Varela Nieto (Vice-President), Llu\u00eds Montoliu Jos\u00e9 (Secretary), and Miguel \u00c1ngel de la Rosa Acosta (Treasurer). The Foundation was formally established in December 2024 and officially registered in the National Foundations Registry in April 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4963\" data-end=\"5264\">In addition to promoting new scientific and educational initiatives, the FSEBBM will facilitate donations and sponsorship programs to support research and science communication, encouraging greater societal involvement in the advancement of molecular biosciences.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5266\" data-end=\"5475\">For IDiBE, this appointment recognizes Antonio Ferrer\u2019s scientific and institutional leadership and reinforces the institute\u2019s commitment to excellence in research, knowledge transfer, and scientific outreach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The newly established foundation will strengthen scientific research, education, outreach activities, and the connection between science and society.
