The event brings together 34 alliances of European universities and will serve as a platform to present the achievements of collaborative projects between universities, included within the Science with and for Society in European Universities Alliances (SwafS) program of the Horizon 2020 program.

The objective of this conference is to share knowledge and good practices to improve collaboration between universities. The discussion topics will cover the development of a common R&D agenda and action plan, the creation and use of joint infrastructures or the strengthening of collaboration with the non-academic sector, among others. In addition, the incorporation of Open Science practices and the involvement of citizens and society in university activities will be encouraged.

The meeting will be held on November 30 and December 1 at the Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) and will feature the participation of prominent researchers and teachers from different fields, as well as directors of research agencies. Antonio Ferrer, director of the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE), has been proposed by the European project NeuroTechEU, of which the Miguel Hernández University of Elche is a part, to participate in Workshop 3 – “Reforming Research Assessment” (Thursday, December 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), to analyze how to reform research evaluation, applying criteria beyond bibliographic metrics.
