Next Thursday, December 14 at 12:00 p.m. we will have a new seminar at IDiBE, entitled “Repurposing drug delivery systems for diagnostics” will be given by Dr. Simon Matoori, from the Université de Montréal.

Prof. Dr. Simon Matoori has been a professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Montreal (Canada) since 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from ETH Zurich, and obtained his Swiss federal pharmacist license in 2013. He completed his PhD in drug formulation and delivery with Prof. Dr. Jean-Christophe Leroux (ETH Zurich) and received his PhD in 2018. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral studies in bioengineering with Prof. David Mooney (Harvard University). He published more than 30 articles in leading journals (Science Translational Medicine, Science Advances, Biomaterials, Small, Journal of Controlled Release), holds three patents, and co-developed a liposomal peritoneal dialysis solution for liver failure that is currently in phase-in clinical trials. 2. He is editor of ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science (impact factor 6.0) and president of the CRS Focus Group Skin & Mucosal Delivery, which has more than 250 active members. His research interests focus on formulation science and biomedical engineering, with an emphasis on drug diagnosis and delivery, and clinical science and pharmacy practice, with special attention to marginalized populations, such as victims of gender violence.
