Last Friday, February 19, the reception ceremony for the new equipment for the “Natural Compounds Purification Unit” of the IDiBE was held. This equipment consists of a new High Resolution Preparative Chromatograph together with a pilot scale Rotary Evaporator. Both pieces of equipment will increase the technological capabilities of the IDiBE for the production and purification of compounds of natural origin, allowing greater and purer quantities of product to be obtained.

Both pieces of equipment have been acquired within the framework of the R&D&i project “New functional ingredients with cosmetic applications based on the use and revaluation of rice straw through the development of advanced biotechnological applications for the cosmetics and footwear industries ( BioTECHRICE)” (TED2021-129932B-C21), whose main researcher is Prof. Enrique Barrajón Catalán, subsidized by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MCIN/ AEI/10.13039/501100011033) and by the European Union through NextGenerationEU funds /PRTR.

The reception event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Research Ángel Carbonell Barrachina, the Deputy Vice-Rector for Research for research and transfer management Javier Sáez Valero, the principal investigator of the project, Professor Enrique Barrajón Catalán, the director of the IDiBE Antonio Ferrer Montiel, and the representative of the Internal Control Service Óscar López Sánchez.
