Last week, the antiviral strategies in aquaculture group of IDiBE, led by Dr. María del Mar Ortega-Villaizán and her team (Dr. Verónica Chico, María Salvador, Celia García, Yeray Cerpa and Adrián López) have attended the International Aquaculture Congress, AQUA 2024 (26-30 August), held in Copenhagen (Denmark).
In this congress, the group has contributed with its work carried out in the laboratory related to its research on vaccines and antiviral therapeutics in aquaculture through 5 oral presentations and 2 posters. The AQUA 2024 Congress, organised by the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) and the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), whose main theme this year focused on ‘Blue Food, Green Solutions’ provided a valuable platform to discuss new and novel ideas to address current challenges in aquaculture and to identify strategies to implement and expand already validated concepts and solutions in this field. The event included scientific conferences, a trade exhibition, industry forums, workshops, student activities and receptions. It highlighted the latest research and innovations in aquaculture, with the aim of supporting the continued growth of this dynamic food production sector.
