At IDiBE – Miguel Hernández University, we are commemorating World Breast Cancer Day. In Spain alone, around 34,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, making it the most common tumour among women.

Thanks to advances in research and increased awareness of the importance of early diagnosis, the five-year survival rate exceeds 90% in many developed countries. However, much remains to be done in terms of more effective and less invasive treatments, especially for the most aggressive subtypes.

Around the world, thousands of researchers are working tirelessly to advance our understanding and treatment of this disease. Science and prevention are essential to continue improving the quality of life of people affected by breast cancer.

Hope, science and solidarity are the best tools to continue making progress against this pathology.

Let’s keep promoting research for a future without breast cancer!
