From ITACyL (Agricultural Technological Institute of Castilla y León) and the Spanish Society of Aquaculture (SEA), they have organized the World Aquaculture Day Conference and invited Maria Del Mar Ortega-Villaizan Romo, a researcher at IDiBE – UMH, to participate.
The event, which brings together sector experts, institutions, and companies to address the challenges and opportunities of aquaculture in Spain, will be held tomorrow at the CENEAM headquarters (National Center for Environmental Education) in the town of Valsaín (Segovia).
The participation of researchers like Ortega highlights the scientific community’s commitment to advancing towards a more efficient, environmentally friendly aquaculture model aligned with global market demands.
For María del Mar Ortega Villaizán, “it is essential for science and industry to work hand in hand to ensure the sustainable growth of aquaculture. Biotechnology is a key tool to face the global challenges impacting this strategic sector.”
