We have great news! After many years of hard work, today we have officially inaugurated our Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Laboratory.
Thanks to this new infrastructure, we can advance our research on new vaccines, such as those targeting cytomegalovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, and herpesvirus, through ongoing projects. Additionally, this facility will allow us to study the potential of bioactive molecules as antibiotics against resistant bacteria.
Our Director, Antonio Ferrer Montiel, expressed his pride in the efforts made to achieve the certification from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III for these facilities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Eva Del Rio Pons and Maria Del Mar Ortega-Villaizan Romo, who are responsible for this infrastructure at IDiBE, along with Prof. Ángel Antonio Carbonell Barrachina, Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer, and Prof. Pedro Vicente-Quiles, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure.
The launch of this laboratory was made possible thanks to the involvement of many people, but we must highlight the key contribution of Eva Del Río. Thank you, Eva, for this and for everything you do for IDiBE – UMH!
