A delegation of experts from the European Society of Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society, including Angel Nadal, researcher at IDiBE – UMH, met yesterday with Jessika Roswall, the European Commissioner responsible for Environment, Water Resilience and Competitive Circular Economy.

The meeting focused on analysing the situation regarding endocrine disruptors, and the delegation transmitted the latest scientific advances on these substances. Public health and research priorities in the pathologies most directly related to disruptors such as cancer, obesity, diabetes, infertility and thyroid diseases were discussed.

The European Union is taking important decisions in this area and the position of the European Society of Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society is key at this time.

In addition, the delegation took advantage of the visit to meet with other people of great relevance in the fields of climate and health, among others.

At IDiBE we are fully aware of the importance of science guiding the decisions taken by the different administrations on issues that affect the entire population.
