Our PhD student María Salvador Mira, from the Erythrocytes in Antiviral Immunology group (https://lnkd.in/dGtzBXXi), has completed a research stay at DTU – Technical University of Denmark, in the laboratory of Prof. Niccolò Vendramin, thanks to the AQUAEXCEL3.0 TNA Programme.

During this stay, framed within the REDFLAG project led by Prof. Maria K. Dahle, experiments were carried out focusing on the immune response of rainbow trout erythrocytes to viral infections.

The results will offer new insights into the role of fish erythrocytes in antiviral immunity, strengthening international collaboration and reinforcing IDiBE’s commitment to animal health and sustainable aquaculture—two key areas for the future of global aquaculture production.

👏 Congratulations, María, on this important contribution to science and the future of aquaculture!
