The Nanobiomaterials Design and Validation Group of the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE–UMH) is hosting this week the workshop series “Artificial Intelligence, Biological and Recycled Materials: Redesigning the Future of Fashion” (POSEIA). This innovative and training-oriented initiative will run until January 15th and will take place at different locations in Elche, Sant Joan d’Alacant, Elda, and Alicante.
These workshops aim to connect artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the development of new materials, fostering collaboration between universities, industry, and Vocational Education and Training (VET). POSEIA adopts a cross-disciplinary approach that brings research and innovation closer to real challenges faced by the productive sector, particularly in the fields of fashion and advanced materials.
The program includes hands-on workshops, visits to technology centers and companies, as well as innovation dynamics focused on knowledge transfer. Among the highlighted activities is the roundtable discussion “From the classroom to innovation in Vocational Education and Training: science, industry, and sustainability in the Mediterranean”, featuring researchers from IDiBE–UMH, representatives from the business sector, and VET educators, encouraging dialogue between education, research, and industry.
The POSEIA workshops exemplify the key role that research and training can play in the transition toward more sustainable production models, as well as in generating social, economic, and environmental impact.
