The agreement has been promoted by the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE) and the Center for Therapeutic Innovation of the University of Bath (UK) to strengthen their scientific collaboration.

The University of Bath currently has more than 20,000 students and a broad portfolio of research projects, both national and international. The Center for Therapeutic Innovation is a multidisciplinary research center that carries out its work among others in Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemistry, Health, Mathematics or Physics and its main objective is to develop precision therapies through translational and interdisciplinary research.

The agreement opens the way to strengthen collaborations both in research and teaching, including visits and stays of professors and students, as well as the joint preparation of international project proposals on topics of mutual interest, such as health biotechnology, biomedicine or advanced materials. In addition, the agreement makes it possible to organize conferences between both entities or the joint generation of training courses.

Banafshe Larijani, President of the Center for Therapeutic Innovation and Antonio Ferrer, director of IDiBE, are the people responsible for coordinating these collaborations to maximize their impact. Ferrer has pointed out that “the internalization of research is one of IDiBE’s priorities and having an entity like the Center for Therapeutic Innovation for this purpose is a great step.”

Finally, Antonio Ferrer wanted to thank the Vice-Rectors for Internationalization and Research and Transfer for their support in signing this framework agreement.
