Constitution of the Associated R&D&I Unit in Healthcare Biotechnology between IDiBE and the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry (IQM-CSIC)
The Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Healthcare Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE-UMH) and the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry of the Spanish National Research Council (IQM-CSIC) have established the Associated R&D&I Unit “Healthcare Biotechnology Unit.”
The creation of this unit represents a strategic milestone for IDiBE, strengthening its position in advanced biomedical research and establishing an alliance of excellence with IQM-CSIC, a national reference center in drug discovery with strong links to the pharmaceutical industry. The joint research lines focus on the main challenges of healthcare biotechnology, such as cancer, neurodegenerative processes, pain, diabetes, and infectious diseases, as well as the design and development of new chemical entities with applications in biosensors, probes, nanomedicine for imaging, diagnosis, and drug delivery.
The Associated R&D&I Units of the CSIC constitute a framework of high-level scientific and technological collaboration, designed to foster cooperation between institutions, increase research competitiveness, and promote knowledge transfer for the benefit of society. With this alliance, IDiBE reaffirms its commitment to consolidating itself as a center of excellence in research, innovation, and knowledge transfer, while also promoting education and scientific culture.
