Coinciding with World Diabetes Day, Dr. Paloma Alonso-Magdalena, researcher at the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE-UMH) and CIBERDEM, will give an outreach talk titled:
“Gestational diabetes: when pregnancy activates the silent clock toward type 2 diabetes.”

📅 Friday, November 14
🕖 7:00 p.m.
📍 Casino of Torrevieja

In her talk, Dr. Alonso-Magdalena will explain in an accessible way how metabolic changes during pregnancy can influence the risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life — both for mothers and their children.

This event is part of the 17th Science Week “20 Years Ars Creatio”, an annual celebration that brings together researchers and citizens to share curiosity, knowledge, and the transformative power of science.

💬 “Talking about science also means talking about health, about the future, and about how our choices can make a difference,” says Dr. Alonso-Magdalena.

From IDiBE, we congratulate her for her dedication to science communication and for helping bring research closer to society.
