On January 14, 2026, the Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE-UMH) welcomed students from IES Sixto Marco, who had the opportunity to visit the institute’s facilities and learn first-hand about the research activities carried out in the field of health biotechnology.
During the visit, students toured different areas of the institute and received an overview of the main research lines developed at IDiBE, as well as insights into the role of scientific research in improving health and quality of life. The activity provided a close look at the daily work of a research centre and highlighted the educational and professional opportunities associated with a career in science.
This visit is part of IDiBE’s outreach and public engagement plan, which aims to bring science closer to society and to promote interest in research among younger generations. Encouraging scientific vocations at early educational stages is a strategic priority to ensure generational renewal and the future development of innovative, responsible research with real social impact.
IDiBE highly values initiatives of this kind, which strengthen the connection between education and research, and would like to thank IES Sixto Marco for their interest and participation, as well as the institute’s research staff for their involvement in the activity.
