Dr. Angel Nadal
Professor of Physiology, Miguel Hernandez University
RESEARCH FIELDS
- In our group, we focus on how environmental chemical pollutants known as Endocrine Disruptors affect the function and survival of pancreatic beta-cells. These cells produce and secrete the hormone insulin, and when they fail, diabetes mellitus occurs.
We translate this knowledge into actions aimed at reducing the prevalence of diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
