From IDiBE, we are pleased to announce the publication of the article:

“The Interplay Between Oxidative Stress and Lipid Composition in Obesity-Induced Inflammation: Antioxidants as Therapeutic Agents in Metabolic Diseases”

In this article, authors María Herranz y Mariló Olivares Vicente analyze how, in the context of obesity, oxidative stress and lipid composition disrupt adipose tissue homeostasis, promoting chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, and the development of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

The study also highlights the role of specific lipids, inflammatory mediators, and oxidative stress markers as potential biomarkers of metabolic dysfunction, and evaluates the therapeutic potential of antioxidants to counteract these alterations.

A valuable contribution to advancing our understanding of obesity and the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.

Congratulations to our outstanding scientists!
