Next Friday, November 14, we will host a new seminar within the IDiBE seminar series.

🟢 Title: Timing matters: “Metabolic outcomes of early-life dexamethasone exposure”
🧑‍🔬 Speaker: Dr. Alex Rafacho

Dr. Rafacho is a specialist in physiology and metabolism. His research focuses on how certain factors during early life —including exposure to medications such as dexamethasone— can shape metabolic health later in adulthood.

During the seminar, he will address a key question:

How can treatments administered during early development influence future risk of metabolic diseases, such as obesity or diabetes?

The talk will present recent findings on the effects of dexamethasone, a glucocorticoid drug widely used in clinical practice, and how the timing of exposure may determine long-term metabolic consequences.

📍 Location: Von Humboldt Room (Torregaitán Building)
🕛 Time: 12:00 h

🔬 A great opportunity to learn how early therapeutic decisions can have lasting effects on future health, and to reflect on the importance of timing in biomedical research and clinical practice.

We look forward to seeing you there!
